Indic Font bug in FireFox
If you are using FireFox and wondering why some of the posts under ‘Hindi‘ section of this blog are appearing strange, and are astonished to find that the same works well in IE, do not be disturbed. This has been an official FireFox bug for more than 4 years now. And the ridiculous thing is that they (FireFox ppl) have been deferring this all this while. Pretty ordinary stuff for an open-source software, I say.
Basically, Indic unicode fonts work well in ‘align=center’, ‘align=left’ and ‘align=right’ mode, but get ruined in ‘align=justify’ on FireFox. If you want to fix this, try this patched version (not part of official FireFox distribution). Or you can try out the latest trunk builds of FireFox 3 (Minefield). The word is that this bug is finally going to be fixed in FireFox 3. Going back to IE would be difficult for ppl like me who have started using ScribeFire.
